CONTACT TRACERS

The Boone County Health Department (BCHD), in partnership with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), is hiring three full-time Contact Tracers to support BCHD to perform COVID-19 contact tracing. Contact tracing is a key strategy for preventing further spread of COVID-19. The Contact Tracers will work with patients to help them recall everyone with whom they have had close contact during the time-frame while they may have been infectious, then contact the individuals to let them know of their potential exposure. Contact Tracers will be instrumental in protecting the residents of Boone County and preventing spread of disease. These are temporary positions with funding guaranteed through May 31, 2021. SUPERVISOR OF ASSESSMENTS

Boone County is seeking a highly motivated and professional individual to fill the position of Supervisor of Assessments.

The successful applicant will have the ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with County staff, elected officials, and the general public. The Supervisor of Assessments plans, supervises, and coordinates the Assessment Department and Board of Review, including developing and maintaining annual budgets. Communicates and coordinates with other taxing districts in the collection of property taxes. Administers annual training, develops and distributes assessment forms, and interprets application State Statutes, regulations, and ordinances. Maintains and edits the County assessment roll and publishes changes. The position is appointed by the Boone County Board and reports to the County Administrator.

A Certified Illinois Assessing Official (CIAO) Certificate; or a Certified Assessment Evaluator Certificate; or a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI), Residential Member (RM), Senior Real Estate Analyst (SREA), Senior Real Property Analyst (SRPA) or Senior Residential Analyst (SRA) certification from the Appraisal Institute or its predecessor organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, public administration, or a closely related field preferred; minimum two years of experience in the field of property sales, assessments, finance or appraisals and must have passed an examination conducted by the Department of Revenue to determine his or her competence to hold the office.
This position requires certification as Illinois Assessing Officer and/or other qualifications as prescribed by 35 ILCS 200/3-5.

Anticipated hiring salary of $70,000 to $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Boone County offers an excellent benefits package.

ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICER
Boone County Government seeks interested candidates for the Animal Services Officer position. The position enforces State Law and other applicable codes and ordinances pertaining to animal control, and is responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, receiving and responding to public complaints, conducting investigations, issuing citations, patrolling assigned areas to capture stray animals, cleaning and maintaining kennel areas, feeding animals, and operating animal control equipment.

This is a full-time position with a starting wage of $13.80 per hour, depending on qualifications. An excellent benefits package is provided, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and IMRF retirement.

Requirements for the position are a High School diploma or equivalent and experience in an animal related or law enforcement field.
