Position: Deputy Clerk

Boone County Clerk & Recorder is currently seeking to hire a Deputy Clerk.  This position is full time, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.  This position will require basic computer knowledge, positive attitude and strong communication and customer service skills.  This person will be responsible for filling vital record requests, issuing marriage licenses, staffing election judges, voter registration, answering phones and other duties as assigned, according to federal, state and local statutes.  The wage for this position is $12.50 per hour, combined with an excellent benefits package.   The start date is effective immediately.  Applications are available at the Boone County Clerk and Recorder’s office, 1212 Logan Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 or online at www.boonecountyil.org.  Boone County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

General Building Maintenance and repair knowledge is needed for this position. Experience with Boilers, HVAC, and three phase electrical desired.  Have the ability to work and coordinate with outside contractors, suppliers and inspectors. Order and maintain inventory of repair parts. Willing to offer some training to the right applicant.

911 Telecommunications Dispatcher

Full-time position answering 911 calls, data entry, dispatching police, fire and ambulance services. Applicants must be able to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment under stressful conditions, be computer and typing proficient and be able to work nights, some weekends and holidays. Applicants must reside within 21 miles of the Belvidere/Boone County Public Safety Building in Belvidere, Illinois within 13 months of employment, have a high school diploma or G.E.D, Must be able to pass a typing test, written test, psychological test, and a thorough background investigation. Current starting salary for this UAW Union position is $19.12 per hour with an excellent benefit package.
