Candidate Information for March 20, 2018 Primary Election

Julie A. Stapler, Boone County Clerk, will have petition packets available for established political party candidates seeking to run in the March 20, 2018 Primary Election beginning,Tuesday, September 5, 2017.  The County Clerk's Office is located at 1212 Logan Ave, Suite 103, Belvidere, IL 61008.  Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. 

Please note:  The office will be closed November 10 in observance of Veteran's Day and November 23 and 24 in observance of Thanksgiving.

 

Important dates to remember are:

September 5, 2017 - First day to circulate petitions

November 27, 2017 - First day to file petitions

December 4, 2017 - Last day to file petitions

 

Signature Requirements for Petitions are as follows:

COUNTY OFFICE -  County Clerk, Sheriff, Treasurer
Republican                                          At least 95 signatures
Democrat                                            At least 45 signatures
 
COUNTY BOARD – DISTRICT #1
Republican                                          At least 39 signatures
Democrat                                            At least 17 signatures
 
COUNTY BOARD – DISTRICT #2
Republican                                          At least 38 signatures
Democrat                                            At least 17 signatures
 
COUNTY BOARD – DISTRICT #3
Republican                                          At least 27 signatures
Democrat                                            At least 24 signatures
 
PRECINCT COMMITTEEMAN       A minimum of 10 signatures
